Project Play is for anyone who enjoys being on stage, acting or being part of a production in any capacity. The project offers enthusiasts a superb opportunity to be involved in a professional approach to staging a popular play that aims to attract a wide ranging audience. (Usually a TV classic!)
The project is genuinely community based and as such it does not involve joining fees and subscriptions for participants. The project also raises money for charity through its work. On-Stage roles are obtained via an audition process, but the project also invites Directors, Stage Managers, Stage Crew, Costumiers, Assistants and basically anyone who would like to be involved in the project.
The outcome of the project is a touring play that travels around various theatres in the South West. Everything technical involved in the production travels from venue to venue, and when it comes to your area, the cast and crew will be ready and waiting, in the form of the keen participants from your area who are taking part. The cast therefore changes from venue to venue.
Far from being a ‘new/additional’ group, the project looks to champion the work of all the existing performance groups that will have made significant contributions to the experience of our participants, and as such the project makes every effort to work alongside all the great work that is already going on in the areas that it takes place.
Project Play will be holding an open evening on Sunday 16 June which will give more information about the project and how to get involved, and will reveal the all-important title of the play! Any budding actors and stage crew who are interested in taking part will be given enrollment forms and future production dates.
Please note: Due to the nature of the productions, this project is suitable for ages 18+ only
